4 glasses of tap water is a one man band, a project – not an  alias – by Andrea Perna.
Andrea has being playing around with quite a lot of people releasing some not so fine demos. Playing in a band – doesn’t matter if soppy pop or punk or heavy metal – has always been hard. After stopping playing in bands some years ago, he couldn’t help joining I MIEI BASTARDI TURBINI INTERIORI, decadent rock quartet based in Bologna whom you will soon hear about (www.myspace.com/imieibastarditurbiniinteriori). Basically, Andrea is seeking for a job, which allows him quite a relaxed life at the moment.

The ambitious aim of 4 glasses of tap water, project born in 1999, is to make music with the autarchic logic of using just the instruments one owns and less collaborators as possible.
The main instruments are an active 5 string B.C. Rich bass, a Zoom multieffect and an analogic Tascam 4 track recorder. Now and then a rotten guitar with 4 strings and a 100 dollar worth keyboard, a marranzano (jew’s harp), a djembe and some other percussions or strange instrument appear.

4 glasses of tap water was born a studio project because Andrea doesn’t like playing live as much as turning away in his own home studio. But, in the future...

The result is (I presume) a minimalist and abrasive post rock where the “Touch and Go” sound of the bass is framed in circular structures that, if it wasn’t for the tendency for aforistic contraction, would remind of the minimalist music of the ‘60s. But instead of reading these silly remarks, just listen to the and you will make sense of it.
